Advice to New Residents: Persistence Pays Off
-
-
Current preservice teachers and graduates of the SUNY Oswego School of Education acknowledge the clinical residency program is demanding but say it is even more rewarding. Asked for advice for other candidates, they recommend preparing by talking with alumni about what to expect—and then “giving it your all.” “Even if it feels like you are overwhelmed, the payout is so much bigger than you would ever imagine it to be,” says candidate Taryn Suprenant. Graduate Jennifer Harbin, now a teacher in the Syracuse City School District, adds, “You certainly get out of it what you put into it.”
