• Coteaching Triads Benefit Students, Educators

  • With two teacher residents and one master teacher in the room, the elementary students in Long Beach’s UTEACH partner schools enjoy plenty of attention. What’s more, the three coteachers benefit from working together as novice and experienced professionals. Cal State Long Beach Dean Shireen Pavri says the format provides residents a valuable mechanism for peer-supported mentoring as well as professional feedback. Professor Felipe Golez notes that the master teachers, too, benefit and improve from the collaboration.
