• Innovating to Address Shortages, Marry Theory and Practice

  • The College of Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, is determined to help solve the teacher shortage in the neighboring community. In addition to traditional undergraduate teacher preparation programs, the college now offers at least 10 alternative routes to get more prepared teachers into the severely understaffed Clark County School District. The expansion of clinical practice and widespread buy-in of faculty to applying research in real-life settings have helped build strong connections with local schools that also strengthen the pipeline of qualified teachers.
