• Building Teacher Leaders while Preparing Future Teachers through a Professional Learning Community of Preservice and Inservice Teachers

  • There is often a disconnect between university teacher education coursework and what occurs in the everyday classroom (Darling-Hammond, et. al., 1999). This study sought to build and maintain a bridge between pre-service and inservice teachers through developing a year-long professional learning community between a university education program and several area school districts. During this session the creation of an inservice and preservice PLC will be discussed.
